had the most random & eccentric july 4th celebration tonight.
after dance class, chau and i and a bunch of other folks headed down to fujiya's for dessert. chau got lost on her way back from picking up justin at shin maebashi station (やっぱり). i wanted the chocolate parfait that had as many calories as a kyuushoku meal, but refrained and got the fruit & vanilla soft cream parfait instead (which was also equivalent to a light meal, haha). after chau and justin got to fujiya and ate their independence day desserts, we all headed to shikishima park to set off fireworks in the rain. ... our caravan of 4 cars got lost cuz of miscommunication, and after about an hour or so we all finally met up again... and went looking for a spot to light the 500yen fireworks that chau had just purchased post-gym. finally found some dark cavernous spot, where we lit the entire package of fireworks. it was great. we were smoky, wet, and in the spirit of independence day.
at the end,
a japanese girl there said,"Today I learned that「アメリカ人はおもしろい」(Americans are funny)..."
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAA.
it was a good night. dance followed by friends, dessert and hanabi.
. thanks for organizing, chau.
so i posted a blown up version of this picture on yumi's myspace:
... and although i'm sure she's embarrassed as hell, she accepted my comment and picture (bless her heart).
now there's a huge picture of this god awfully gorgeous japanese woman on her profile.
i'm so amused, that i'm sitting here laughing and clapping in the dark by myself.

frustrating at times,
but insanely fun on the whole.
Design Festa Spring 2007
was not as good as expected, but there were some great art and good fun.
brad and i...

were not too impressed.

the belly dancers looked tiiiight...
but, i do have to say i appreciate belly dancers with actual bellies a bit more.
of course, jen found the korean artists' booths...
and she phoned me to let me know
cuz i love koreans.
go korea! te-ha-ming-guk. (i duno how to spell that correctly, but you get it).
after that, jen and i found some space friends.

ahhhhhhh... gyoza art.
i love non-edible food art.
last design festa, i spent a fortune on panda toast & chicken egg on toast.
(i'll have to take pictures and upload it later for it to make any sense at all).
i also love food.
i love cafes. <3. yum.
Tokyo, Tokyo, また東京
the past few weekends have been a whirlwind of amusing miscommunication, partying, dancing, eating, and more dancing. Much thanks to yumi (and to hide's obliviousness), who has made my life in the past month so damn hilarious.
i'm very much the grateful.
finally got some pictures this past weekend.
akira's gf visited from jersey, so we wanted to take her out for a fun night in tokyo.
went to fujimama's... sooooooo damn good. then, shibuya.
stayed @ my beloved ホテルモントレ半蔵門.
yumi & i can't get enough of harajuku...
and we can't get enough of bape cafe.
i <3 bape cafe.
